fancy bubble dress

This is the Bubble Dress by Oliver + S. I actually bought this pattern while I was pregnant with M, as I was sure I was having a girl (and I sure was right, for once!). I'm sorry that they've discontinued the pattern in the bigger sizes (2T-5), as it's really versatile. It looks cute in cotton, and it came out gorgeous with the fancier georgette.

One problem with the pattern is the front edgestitching. She calls for cute stitching that goes around the top to make it look like a cap sleeve rather than just one bodice piece. The problem is, you have to get it perfect and straight, TWICE, which I have found impossible (four times over).

With that behind me, it's a gorgeous dress and a great design, and it only takes about two hours.
